Roadmap Toolbar

Overview

This page describes the Roadmap Toolbar elements in Portfolio++ and how to use them. Each section includes a small icon representing the UI element.


Zoom

Zoom Icon
Change the zoom of the timeline: Quarterly, Months, Weeks, Days.

note

The start date for Quarterly zoom can be customized on the Roadmap Settings → View Controls page.


Date Range

Date Range Icon
Reduce the timeline to a specific timeframe. Partial cards show a dotted line when cutoff by the date range. Milestones outside the date range will not show.


Milestones

Milestones Icon
Create or edit milestones displayed at the top of the roadmap for a specified date. Learn more about Milestones by watching this video.

  • Label: Customize the Milestone label.
  • Date: The date the milestone appears at the top of the timeline.
  • Color: Customize Milestone color.
  • Linked Work Items:
    • Check Mark: Linked work items are completed or the Milestone has passed.
    • Exclamation Mark: Milestone date has passed and linked work items are not completed.
  • Show Date Line: Display a vertical line on the timeline by clicking the milestone and enabling the toggle.
  • Arrow: Click to expand or collapse the Milestone drawer.

  • Multiple work items on the same date display as a number until the milestone drawer is expanded.
  • Milestones outside the roadmap timeline extend the timeline (unless a Date Range filter is applied).

Filters

Filter Icon
Customize which work items are shown (selected items) or rolled up into metrics (children).

note

Selected work items (by Project, Team, or Query) show a black triangle.

  • Filter Mode: Controls how filters are applied.
    • Selected items only (no children): Applies filters only to selected items.
    • Selected items + children (show parents even if filtered out): Shows matching child items and their parent items, even if parents don’t match the filter.
    • Selected items + children (strict filter): Applies filters to selected items and children. Only items that match are shown.
  • Work Items: Choose which selected items are displayed.
  • Work Item Types: Select which types of work items are shown (Epic, Feature, Task, etc.).
  • Filter By Assigned: Filter Work Items based on who they are assigned to.
  • States: Choose which state a work item must be in to appear (Active, Closed, Resolved, etc.).
  • Visible Tags: Select which tags appear on cards.
  • Select tags to filter by: Only show work items that have at least one selected tag.

Views

Views Icon
Select or search for a custom view to switch to.

  • Save: Save the current view (also available via the blue Save View button).
  • Save As: Save changes to a new or existing view.
  • Rename View: Rename the current view (not available for Default view).
  • Delete View: Delete the current view (not available for Default view).
